Midsummer Night's Resurrection

Another goth night, another outfit! This outfit was for this event; Midsummer Night's Resurrection
A Midsummer Night's Dream themed night and masquerade, which works perfect for me with my nickname being Puck and all. I kind of went for the obvious, an outfit with fairy wings. (I definitely was not the only one there with that idea.) Since I didn't own any fairy wings, wasn't sure the best place to buy some, and didn't have time to order a pair from the internet, I decided to make my own pair. I did so using a how-to guide I found on a Google search. The instructions along with a lot of other DIY things are on my Pinterest

Since it was a masquerade I went with my favorite mask, a plague Doctor mask I bought online for a Halloween costume last year. The rest of the outfit is made of a dress I bought at Savers for around eight dollars, a pair of boots I bought there for a similar amount, glovelets my mother had given me, tights, and some fake nails a friend had given me. I sadly didn't have anyone take any pictures of the outfit all together on me, oh well. I'll get my shit together on this blog eventually.

Until next time!

Event Post 1

So tonight's a new night in Boston that I am really pumped about. I've been dreaming about what outfit I was going to put together. I consider myself a pretty avid gamer but I don't have too much gamer based clothes department, at least nothing club worthy. Here's the link to the event on Facebook. https://www.facebook.com/events/1463163197255494/

I posted on my Facebook page that I was torn on what to wear and mentioned I have a Star Fleet Battles dress. One of my friends went nuts so that's what I'm wearing tonight. The dress was made for me by a brother of mine (The same one who'll be posting on here eventually.) It was a nice birthday present. It's basically and iron-on transfer on a dress he bought that has the same shape as the grids you play on for the game. It's a tabletop game by the way. Feel free to look it up.

The outfit is pictured above (I don't seem to know how to move it right now...) It's not especially goth, though the right accessories and makeup can change that. I'm going to find someone to take my picture with the whole things. So far for accessories I have the necklace pictured which is a D20 next to a small fake floppy disk. I think I'll have to wear my floppy disk earrings I've made. Like I said, Will post the full outfit later.

It begins!

Hello! Gotta start somewhere! Hi I'm Puck! I've considered myself goth or at least very interested in the aesthetics since I was in elementary school. I have been active in the New England goth club scene for five or six years now and have a lot of interest in participating in it as much as I can in as many ways as I can. (This includes a brief stint trying to run my night that did not go as planned.)

Not long ago I was poking around the internet and I cam across a couple goth based blogs. (One being http://www.theeverydaygoth.com/) This kind of inspired me. Why not make my own blog? It also made me want to include my family. I have a sister who is also super into fashion, though she doesn't club like I do. She's a mother of two. I kinda think I'd like to see her views represented a bit. I don't see a whole lot of goth-mom based blogs. So at some point I'll be giving her access and she'll be posting here as well.

I also have a brother who I would love to see posts from. I think we need more views from the dudes. Not that I don't totally dig hot goth chick pictures, but I think you get what I mean.

I also found this awesome series of videos on youtube by the wife of one of my favorite animators. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XSTgtI2BkTo I was enthralled. Her outfits are so unique. I became super curious as she's in California. Is that the fashion out there? I started nicknaming her look, "west-coast baller-goth". I then looked into some of the pieces of her outfit thinking it'd be nice to rock some of her ideas here on the East Coast. I was hit with sticker shock. Her outfits are expensive. Now I'm not saying she's crazy rich or anything, there's a chance she got some of these things as gifts or at a discount, or maybe the company sent her some.

This all makes me want to create a gothic fashion blog dedicated to helping people dress goth on a budget. Or on a shoestring. I know as someone who clubs it can be overwhelming finding new pieces for a night and not wanting to get caught wearing the same thing multiple nights in a row. So I want to help you out! From helping find a place to buy the things you want, cheaper alternatives, sneaky ways to add to your outfit, and some diy! We'll definitely have to give you some Pinterests boards to draw your inspiration from, and not to mention lots of pictures of things we've bought and our outfits!

Hope to inspire you!
