Closets.

I'm doing it yet again. What, you may ask? Starting off a blog apologizing for something I did to myself. I thought my next post would be a summary of other things I did and about all my awesome gifts I got fir my birthday. What ended up happening was me sinking into depression, anxiety, and stress from several sources. Still not having the best time, but a lot of it was relieved by finishing the last math test I needed today.

So now onto other things. So as I've mentioned in several places on and off the internet, I came out as Genderfluid. This means a lot of different things to different people so I'm just going to talk about my experiences.

Part of the problems with being Genderfluid is my clothing situation. Sometimes I feel "girly" and I want to wear skirts and dresses and I love my boobs and I love having cleavage. Sometimes I'm in-between and I don't mind some of my curves showing but not really, then there are days like today, where I feel "manly." I let my body hair grow, I wear a beanie and/or a hoodie, I wish my voice was deeper,  I hide my boobs and daydream about being able to just take them off and put them in storage somewhere. This has made my closet a dangerous place.

Since coming to terms with the fact that I am Genderfluid, and that it's totally fine, I decided it would be more helpful if I clean out and rearrange my closet. This way it'll be much easier to dress how I'm feeling. Plus, I had a lot of bullshit clothes in there I don't need.

Thus, I began cleaning and organizing my closet. Documenting it here and there on various social media: https://vine.co/v/exUh53XYJevGGPuckgram
~This is a bunch of the clothes no longer in the closet. Some of it is going to friends and getting donated, the rest is either being fixed or repurposed, hopefully with the awesome skills of some of my friends.

And over here is the current state of things in one corner. I've been working on this for months and it's not done, but progress.

Speaking of my talented friends: I'm throwing a Sci-Fi themed party with the help of an awesome friend of mine. You may have seen me furiously pinning ideas for it. We're planning on doing the nebula bottles and the Jolly Rancher shot glasses. Maybe I'll record it. Who knows. My friend Div is going to be cooking for us. Which speaking of, if you happen to have some extra cash, you should help him out.

Alright, that's it.
I might have exciting news soon, though. Fingers crossed and all that jazz.

Birthday Doings Summary and things to come.

So my birthday weekend has come and gone and as promised I have things to share! So my birthday event at Resurrection was pretty fucking sweet. Partially literally since DJ Pet made me some super tasty cupcakes. Sadly I didn't take any pictures of them. Pet made the place look great. Here's a video! Once again Sawtooth and Badaxe did a great job. They definitely knew their audience in this case.

I had a couple of artist friends come in with their stuff, feel free to check them out! Like dead stuff like I do? Go to http://www.frozenduskstudio.com/. The other artist doesn't have a page for her art right now, but feel free to oogle her model page: http://www.modelmayhem.com/DDinred.

Oh, I finally caved and got an Instagram. So follow me I suppose? https://www.instagram.com/ggpuck/

I'll post again next week!

Event post double feature! DITfest 2015 and my birthday night!

A lot of things happening in my world lately. Mostly really cool things. Last weekend I participated in my second Doin' It Together Fest. DITfest is an event where musician-type people put their name in a proverbial hat and are assigned a band. They then have one day to write, practice and then perform. My band was "The Jeff's." There was video taken that I will share when it's posted. For now check out these kickass photos! It's almost like I know what I'm doing! :P

Of course tomorrow is my birthday event! Exciting stuff! It's video themed so I decided I wanted to make an outfit inspired my favorite video game of all time, The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time. Thus, I've been jokingly calling it my "Ootfit" (I know someone out there is mentally smacking me for that pun).

I made a vine of me putting the outfit together too: https://vine.co/v/iu7WqFWQPjE

I'll write again next week!

Birthday Doings.

Well, the first charity event of my birthday month came and went. Extra-life raised over $6-million for hospitals to help sick kids. The team I belonged had the goal of $250 and ended up raising $505! Good job team!

Not it's time for the next charity! As mentioned before I'm "taking over" Resurrection on my upcoming birthday. The event page has been officially posted, RSVP >Here<. It's video game themed so there should be sweet game music remixes and feel free to dress in your gamer best.

We're using the night to raise money for Planned Parenthood! If you can't come to the event please make an online donation or at least share this with someone who might be interested.

Apologies for the lack of pictures. I'll probably vine some of these events so follow me.

Using My Powers for Good.

First off, apologies for not posting any blogs last month. October is always super busy. Normally this would be an event post all about the concert I went to in Salem MA this past weekend: DARQ presents: God Module/Angelspit/Gothsicles/Voicecoil/Mordacious! I'd normally be showing off the outfit I wore, or talking about how it was the first time I had been to Darq. Or, I'd be posting about the outfit I plan to wear to Resurrection: The Gunpowder Treason this Thursday, but this blog entry is about other things this time. It's going to be long but bear with me.

My birthday is coming up, November 19th and I am having a HUGE celebration. I'm turning 28 years old. Now this isn't a significant number or anything, there's no thrill like when you turn 21. This birthday feels special to me though. It's a long story but basically, a lot of things happened in the past year, year and a half that impacted me and my life and I'm celebrating making it through and embracing who I am. I might get into more of that story in the future. To get more to the point, I believe in "using my powers for good." What better way than to use my social "powers" and my birthday? Basically, instead of giving me gifts, I'd like it if my friends or whoever else reads this blog to help one of the following charities:

First up is Extra-Life. This charity is dedicated to helping sick kids who are stuck in hospitals. I've been participating in this fundraiser on and off for a few years now. The idea of it is that you marathon games, whether they are video games or ones of the tabletop variety, for 24 hours, all the while getting donations from awesome people. The team I'm helping out is run by the nice people over at The Cardboard Republic.

Second up, Planned Parenthood. Sexual safety is very important to me. I think so many problems could be solved if everyone was just taught how their body works and understood how important sex is and how to be safe. Planned Parenthood has helped me so many times and helps so many other people. I think it's an invaluable resource. I have started a fundraiser page, but I am also using my party on the 19th at Ressurection to raise money. There will be raffles for fun baskets full of prizes and "Sexperts" from Planned Parenthood will be celebrating with us.

Next up, The Wayne Foundation. This was started by Jamie Walton and Kevin Smith. It's a charity specializing in helping women who are victims of the sex slave trade. A thing that still happens today believe it or not. Not going to lie, Kevin Smith is an inspiration towards my desire to "Use my powers for good." Well him and Batman, Another future blog topic meyhaps.

I emailed The Wayne Foundation because I was concerned about victims that don't identify as women and Jamie sent me a nice email telling me about their partner organization More Too Life which helps victims of sexual violence of all kinds of all gender identities. So you can donate to them too if you'd like.

So if you can't donate to any of these, please share them. If you don't want to share it, just do something nice for someone. Make someone laugh. Life is hard and shitty and upsetting. The least any of us can do is something, even something small, to help relieve someone else's pain or sadness.

And to all my friends who I like to make laugh: If you are lonely and need me to make you giggle, and I'm not around, watch some of my vines. :)

Belated Event Posts! Plague: A Mad Hatter's tea-party and Resurrection: #tbt

Last month I went to Plague up in Maine. We carpooled with Sawtooth who was DJing. It was Alice in Wonderland themed and was a locals birthday party. Definitely gave me some ideas for my birthday in a couple months. Instead of dressing in themed I just threw an outfit together and did weird shit with my make-up.

The next event was this past thursday. Rez. Sillah Made me hurt my legs. Saw a bunch of people I hadn't seen in a long time.  The theme was Throw Back Thursday meaning back in the day goth. They plaayed some classics from the 80's and such. I tried to go 80's goth style. I was going to tease the fuck out of my hair but I forgot my hairspray. Oh wells.

I made a vine of it. Look! -> https://vine.co/v/eTrVKpVWmti

Here's what I wore!

Updates updates!

A lot of things going on in my world. I had planned this big epic team post with my sister but we ended up just having sister time together. It was wonderful and I had a great time. Sadly for you guys though it meant less posting from me. Which is upsetting since I did wear me some nice outfits you all missed.

I know I keep saying this every few months, but this time around I am seriously going to make an effort to post more regularly. I'm back in school again but I think it'll be easier to post more regularly with a consistent schedule.

I don't have anything clothing related in this post but I'd like to take this opportunity to share other things I do you might not know about.

I'm a huge fan of Let's Plays and video games in general, so I've been experimenting with doing it myself. SO far I haven't done much outside of play Hearthstone but I'm trying. You can check that out here: http://plays.tv/u/Puck

I also started a Vine. I should have done this forever ago. I've been having a great time making silly little videos. I can't wait until I go to a club and can record some of the great grafitti I find or something. That is here: https://vine.co/u/1249902513080664064 (I'll eventually have a nicer url.)

I have a couple other Youtube channels. I thought about starting one for this blog where I show things like what my closet looks like, shopping vlogs etc. but I'm just going to use the one I originally did for my daydream Let's Play Channel. I can have video games and clothes on there. It's my channel. Anyway, that's here: (Forgive the emptiness, needs work) https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCEjlTUgDfYFXI1dQ8_IFOBA

+I've had a Twitter account for years but I haven't used it consistently for awhile. I recently reactivated it for the millionth time. It mostly just has Vine postings but I might start posting when I update my blog for example. Find it Here: https://twitter.com/ZA_Shojogamer

+Last two with be somewhat fashion related. I already did a blog entry about this but May as well mention it again. Pinterest! I don't think I need to explain much about that site. Here it is: https://www.pinterest.com/manbatgirl/

+Last but not least is Keep. Keep's like Pinterest except you can only "pin", to borrow pinterest's terms, items that can be actually bought. So the "pin" is connected to the store. Example: you see an awesome shirt but you don't have any money. You put it on Keep. You forget about the shirt. A few weeks go by and your bored and go on Keep. You see that shirt again and have money! You click and buy it through the site. You can also earn money through the site and discounts and things so you might get that shirt for free if you play your cards right. Oh and you can connect it to your Pinterest and get multiple things done at the same time. It is here: https://keep.com/u/alicia_puckery/

Oh and there is now a Facebook page for this blog if you prefer that. Here: https://www.facebook.com/ShoestringGoth

That's it! If I get more things I'll make an updated post. I've had some Tumblr's but I dunno if I'll revive that or not. My next post will probably be Friday.

BYYYEEEEE!

Going to a summer Star Wars birthday party. I own a few Star Wars shirts but I decided to go with my Bulbasaur/Boba Fett mash-up shirt. And my galaxy shorts under short shorts. Myep.

Event Post! XMortis: the Last Event at TT's :(

Today's event is a sad one. It's the last night of a night that's been around for awhile, X-Mortis. This wasn't a night I went to often, but the few times I've gone have been memorable. The first night I went was in the summer. I remember sexy beach pirates. I tossed a beach ball around with the handful of others who had come early. I grabbed a drink walked around. Then at a certain point it was overflowing with people. It was an explosion of shades of black, arms and legs kicking, people in their own worlds. It was interesting.

Despite first making out with my husband in a club, he doesn't go to many nights. He liked that night when he went though, he has a thing for pool.

I am anticipating a crowd. I'm expecting to sweat. I will be dressed accordingly.

Event Post - Resurrection: Sci-fi Picture show

I'm going to the next Rez with a new spiffy outfit! As you may have figured out from the title, it's a Science Fiction themed event. I recently got an awesome shirt from an awesome lady featuring one of my favorite characters from one of my favorite Sci-fi shows. Since it was really big for me I "altered" it to look more like a tank dress. I am then wearing these boxers underneath that feature nebula and space stuff with some similarly styled knee-high socks. And since the fourth of July is coming up. I threw on some red white and blue.

Puck shares a thing! FB

The blog has been sparse. I have been doing the whole "real-life" thing. I have done a small thing. I have finally started a Facebook page. If you want updates for my posts feel free to give it a like!

That's all for now. I know, short posts aren't cool.

Event Post- ClusterFuck2: The Fuckening!

I can't believe it's been a whole year! It's the second time Rez is doing Clusterfuck! It's a fun event where a bunch of DJ's are picked randomly and only get 15-minute sets. They can't repeat anyone else's songs and they can't go over their allotted time. The DJ's love it. Once again, my awesome husband is participating. I'm so excited. Especially since he hasn't told me anything and has been collecting songs in secrecy.

In what is becoming a tradition, my husband is picking out the outfit I'm going to wear! Here is what he picked.

The DJ peruses the closet (ignore the wasp spray).

Checking a drawer.

He went with my favorite earrings. They were made for me by an awesome friend.

This cute beetle necklace.

And he decided to go with this simple dress.

See you guys there!

A sad day.

My grandmother died this past Friday. I don't want to talk about it on here right now. Maybe I will some day but this blog is about clothes, so I'll just talk about that.

Yesterday, my mother and I went shopping for dresses to wear to my grandmother's wake. I had plans to buy a pink dress, or at least a dress that had pink on it because it was her favorite color. At the same time though I wanted it to by "my style" to have skulls or other such things. I found a dress that fit that description perfectly. Then I found a Batman dress that I had seen before and have wanted for awhile. I was torn. I liked the pinkish dress but I love Batman. I thought about how my grandmother would want me to get whatever I wanted, how she spoiled everyone and would have bought both. So That's what I did.

I'm going to wear one of them later today to a cook-out and the other on to her wake on Wednesday.

This is the pinkish one.

Here is the Batman one.

My mother bought this nice black dress with lacy bits. I might take a picture of it and add it on here too. I also may add me actually wearing these dresses. Also apologies for not putting the dresses on my dress form or mannequin, just not feeling it today. Lazylazy. See you later.

Event Post- Resurrection: Just Dance!

Tonight's event! It's not themed or anything and I just decided yesterday that I was going to this so there wasn't much thought behind this outfit. I'm trying to go for something suited for the warmer weather. Sadly I can't wear anything that shows my legs off too much since my thighs rub together and it hurts. Especially if I want to actually dance. Oh wells.

The dress was bought a few years ago from Pac-Sun. I originally got it for a New Years party. It has served me well though for multiple events.

I got these skull leggings at the now closed store Deb. That store had some nice things hidden among it's wares.

Wedge sandals my mom gave me a while back. I hardly ever wear them. I find it hard to find a good outfit for them, and they are a touch hard to dance in for me.

I have also started working on an outfit for Haven's next event. The theme is "Anything but Clothes" which I just could not pass up. Finally have something I can use my caution tape for!

I'm attempting to wrap the tape around this shitty Halloween store corset I had laying around, I'm already stabbed myself a couple times trying to use safety pins to secure it. I think I can find a way to work it though.

Well see you around!

Event Post: Haven Industrial Pajama Party!

Event time! This event is a PJ party down in North Hampton's own Haven! (event is here) It will be only the second time I've been to Haven. I'm going this time because my dear Brother-in-law will be spinning for the first hour. Yay Sawtooth!

Being the good Bat-fan that I am, I of course will be wearing my Batman Onesie a very good friend bought for me a few years ago.
I also have my utility belt and a back-up underneath outfit in case I get too toasty.

No PJ party outfit is complete without slippers!

And I'm got my Robin The Bear Wonder!

Bonus pix of my cat posing with Robin.

See you there!

Puck Shares a Thing! Cemetery Confessions!

Hey guys! I'm super excited today! Why's that? My blog got shared on a podcast I listen to! I was going to talk about this blog anyway but they read a letter I wrote them and they talked about this! EEeeeeeeeeeeee! What was the podcast? Cemetery Confessions. I stumbled onto this podcast testing out a theory I have that there is a podcast out there for nearly every subject. I started searching keywords of things I'm into and eventually I got to 'goth' and this show came up!

The show as of now post once a month, with occasional bonus episodes in between to tide you over. It's divided up into nice segments over the span of a few hours. I can be hard to listen to the whole thing but it's usually worth it. They talk about goth related news, philosophical issues, the club scene, reviews and recommendations. It's nice listening to goth types from different walks of life. You get to kind of see what translates and what doesn't and how similar goths can be no matter where they are from.

The hosts overall try to respect other peoples points of view and on more than one occasion have been more than willing to admit they are wrong or don't know enough about a topic. I like that. I've met some goths who pretend to know things to gain 'goth points' or something which can be super annoying.

I highly reccomend you give it a listen if you are a fan of discussion based podcasts and are into the goth scene. They aren't professionals but you can feel their passion miles away. At least I can.

All the links!!!! The website was linked in the first paragraph, Their Facebook page is here, ItunesYoutube, and finally their Patreon page. Sadly since I am an unemployed student I can't support them, I can use my blog for good though! Also of course you can find them on Stitcher like I did! If you want to listen to the episode where my letter was read, it is episode 16: Subcultural Ideals.

Byeeeee!

Mini Post!

I found a thing! I just wanted to share this loverly shawl-type deal I found recently!
It's very velvety, nice design, it also has short sleeves. Guess where I bought it? Deb. I don't know if this chain is everywhere but it's this teeny bopper type store. It's actually going out of business so I decided to pop in and see if I could find something. Well I did! Just wanted to share and say that it just goes to show sometimes you find something amazing where you don't expect it!
