A sad day.

My grandmother died this past Friday. I don't want to talk about it on here right now. Maybe I will some day but this blog is about clothes, so I'll just talk about that.

Yesterday, my mother and I went shopping for dresses to wear to my grandmother's wake. I had plans to buy a pink dress, or at least a dress that had pink on it because it was her favorite color. At the same time though I wanted it to by "my style" to have skulls or other such things. I found a dress that fit that description perfectly. Then I found a Batman dress that I had seen before and have wanted for awhile. I was torn. I liked the pinkish dress but I love Batman. I thought about how my grandmother would want me to get whatever I wanted, how she spoiled everyone and would have bought both. So That's what I did.

I'm going to wear one of them later today to a cook-out and the other on to her wake on Wednesday.

This is the pinkish one.

Here is the Batman one.

My mother bought this nice black dress with lacy bits. I might take a picture of it and add it on here too. I also may add me actually wearing these dresses. Also apologies for not putting the dresses on my dress form or mannequin, just not feeling it today. Lazylazy. See you later.

Event Post- Resurrection: Just Dance!

Tonight's event! It's not themed or anything and I just decided yesterday that I was going to this so there wasn't much thought behind this outfit. I'm trying to go for something suited for the warmer weather. Sadly I can't wear anything that shows my legs off too much since my thighs rub together and it hurts. Especially if I want to actually dance. Oh wells.

The dress was bought a few years ago from Pac-Sun. I originally got it for a New Years party. It has served me well though for multiple events.

I got these skull leggings at the now closed store Deb. That store had some nice things hidden among it's wares.

Wedge sandals my mom gave me a while back. I hardly ever wear them. I find it hard to find a good outfit for them, and they are a touch hard to dance in for me.

I have also started working on an outfit for Haven's next event. The theme is "Anything but Clothes" which I just could not pass up. Finally have something I can use my caution tape for!

I'm attempting to wrap the tape around this shitty Halloween store corset I had laying around, I'm already stabbed myself a couple times trying to use safety pins to secure it. I think I can find a way to work it though.

Well see you around!

Event Post: Haven Industrial Pajama Party!

Event time! This event is a PJ party down in North Hampton's own Haven! (event is here) It will be only the second time I've been to Haven. I'm going this time because my dear Brother-in-law will be spinning for the first hour. Yay Sawtooth!

Being the good Bat-fan that I am, I of course will be wearing my Batman Onesie a very good friend bought for me a few years ago.
I also have my utility belt and a back-up underneath outfit in case I get too toasty.

No PJ party outfit is complete without slippers!

And I'm got my Robin The Bear Wonder!

Bonus pix of my cat posing with Robin.

See you there!

Puck Shares a Thing! Cemetery Confessions!

Hey guys! I'm super excited today! Why's that? My blog got shared on a podcast I listen to! I was going to talk about this blog anyway but they read a letter I wrote them and they talked about this! EEeeeeeeeeeeee! What was the podcast? Cemetery Confessions. I stumbled onto this podcast testing out a theory I have that there is a podcast out there for nearly every subject. I started searching keywords of things I'm into and eventually I got to 'goth' and this show came up!

The show as of now post once a month, with occasional bonus episodes in between to tide you over. It's divided up into nice segments over the span of a few hours. I can be hard to listen to the whole thing but it's usually worth it. They talk about goth related news, philosophical issues, the club scene, reviews and recommendations. It's nice listening to goth types from different walks of life. You get to kind of see what translates and what doesn't and how similar goths can be no matter where they are from.

The hosts overall try to respect other peoples points of view and on more than one occasion have been more than willing to admit they are wrong or don't know enough about a topic. I like that. I've met some goths who pretend to know things to gain 'goth points' or something which can be super annoying.

I highly reccomend you give it a listen if you are a fan of discussion based podcasts and are into the goth scene. They aren't professionals but you can feel their passion miles away. At least I can.

All the links!!!! The website was linked in the first paragraph, Their Facebook page is here, ItunesYoutube, and finally their Patreon page. Sadly since I am an unemployed student I can't support them, I can use my blog for good though! Also of course you can find them on Stitcher like I did! If you want to listen to the episode where my letter was read, it is episode 16: Subcultural Ideals.

Byeeeee!

Mini Post!

I found a thing! I just wanted to share this loverly shawl-type deal I found recently!
It's very velvety, nice design, it also has short sleeves. Guess where I bought it? Deb. I don't know if this chain is everywhere but it's this teeny bopper type store. It's actually going out of business so I decided to pop in and see if I could find something. Well I did! Just wanted to share and say that it just goes to show sometimes you find something amazing where you don't expect it!

Event Post: Resurrection Just Dance!

So this is another not really themed night going on. This might sound weird or silly but I basically let my cat pick my outfit. She was climbing around my closet. I basically just grabbed articles of clothing she layed on or batted at.

pink fishnet I bought at a party store. Oh and my Marilyn cut-out is saying hello.

Dem boots!

Outfit looks a little Mall-gothy, but I'll still rock it.

Event Post: Excess New Time Slot!

So last time I went to Excess it was at a new location. I wasn't sure about the new place, loved the decor though. I like some of the people there though so giving it another chance. :p If you want to know the info, here's the event page.

The DJ for the event is DJ Dirge. I'm not afraid to say he's one of my favorite DJ's in the scene. (Aside from DJBadaxe and Sawtooth but I'm kind of biased as I'm married to one of them and the other one's my brother-in-law XD) But I like Dirge's taste in music, his DJ style/presence. I like how he pays attention to the over all sense of the dance floor and will pick it up when he knows it needs it. You'd be surprised how many DJ's don't seem to pick up on that so well. Also he somehow always plays one of my favorite songs. I have no idea if he does it on purpose but it's awesome either way.

If you went to the link above you'll see Dirge's persona, appropriately enough, has a lot to do with skulls and skeletons. I also have a serious thing for skulls so I dig it. Since this night doesn't have a theme this time I'm going for the Dirge-like skeletons.

So the front of the dress is just a plain normal gown.

The back is this lovely set of ribs. I've warn this dress before, I'm fairly certain I did a blog post outfit with it too. Yay skeletons! I got this dress a handful of years ago on sale at Hot Topic. Yeah I know, that place is for baby bats and scene kids but they do still have cool stuff from time to time. Plus I have a couple friends who work there so it' cool to stop in and say hi every once in a while.

My boney knee highs again, these things make frequent appearances in my outfits haha. And yeah I know. I just got that mannequin wit actual legs and feet I could have put these on but I was lazy.

Some of my accessories. To the left my long finger-less gloves that also keep appearing. to the right are some press on nails. Metallic colors kind of remind me of bones for some reason. Oh friendly tip? Always remember boots, corset, then nails. otherwise you'll have a bad time. XD

And my awesome skull hair things that I bought in artist's alley at a convention a few years ago.
